Cynthia Bolker - Businesswoman behind Two Athletic Wear Patents
A businesswoman based in San Diego, Cynthia Bolker has a deep passion for running, which led to her successfully filing for two patents in the athletic apparel space. She fell in love with running in her 20s and was always looking for a pair of shorts, pants, or capris that would allow her to carry different items while she walked or ran. Cynthia Bolker could not find the perfect solutions in any existing products, so she designed them herself.
After creating the athletic wear, Ms. Bolker sought to patent her creations. After five years of effort, she was issued two utility patents for shorts, pants, and capris that could hold a cellphone and similarly small items safely and securely. She now seeks a partnership collaboration with a large athletic brand that will either license her patents or acquire them directly. Her goal is to go out running and see her creations worn by other people of all ages and sizes.
Cynthia Bolker has a BA in psychology and sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. When not pursuing business deals or working out, she enjoys baking. Her specialties are chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and banana bread. Ms. Bolker has also served on the boards of various foundations and supports the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
